Welcome! Below you will find programs offered by CALC in Lamont County. Our adult education programs are designed by teams trained in adult literacy and foundational learning. Our goal is to help you, the learner, in your learning journey. Programs are developed to assist you with many different skills for learning including improving reading and number skills, or improving your English. Facilitators provide a welcome and safe space for you to achieve and succeed!
English Language Learners (ELL), is a program to help learners who have a limited ability to read or speak English. Learners often come from non-English-speaking homes and backgrounds, and who typically require specialized or modified instruction in the English language. Instructor is available for 1 on 1 tutoring.
Creating Family Connections
Explore meaningful ways to connect with your children through stories, songs and play. Then spend time with other parents sharing your views of family, love of family and different ways to grow as a family. Other topics like learning, dreams, communication and the importance of listening will be introduced. Contact us to register.
A supportive, hands-on program that runs two days a month in the kitchen. No experience necessary. At the end of the second day, each learner brings home a delicious meal. Program is offered in Lamont and Mundare. Please contact us to register.
My Journey ... Who am I?
My Journey is an uplifting and guided program. You will gain confidence in tackling challenges through any stage of life. My Journey runs once per week for 8 weeks. Please contact us to register.
My Journey ... into the Workplace
This program is custom made for each learner and is one-on-one with our Facilitator. You will end up with a targeted resume, a cover letter and be prepared for a job interview. Contact us to register.

Basic Digital Skills for Seniors
This is the perfect program for seniors that want to learn more about how to use their cell phone, iPad, tablets, laptops and others. Our facilitators help you to become comfortable using the tools to keep in touch with loved ones, send emails or filling out forms online and finding information important to you while staying safe. A fun and helpful course that seniors love!
One on One Tutoring
CALC offers one on one tutoring that is learner-centered and learner-driven. Tutoring can help your self-esteem, your attitude toward subject matter, as well as personal growth. In addition to that, tutoring is a self–paced and self–directed learning process.

Parents! This course is for you. Children can ask for the latest electronics because all their friends have one, they can add extra items in the grocery cart asking 'please! buy this!". This course will help you to teach your children about spending and saving.

Firearms safety is paramount. An important function of Alberta’s Chief Firearms Office is to provide information and advice to Albertans on how to keep their firearms safe. All of us feel many emotions in life - happiness, sadness, joy and pain. Sometimes we feel like we are not good enough, judged, angry or misunderstood. These emotions can become overwhelming.
